Gig Catch Up - Philadelphia Grand Jury

Waaay back in November I was lucky enough to catch Philadelphia Grand Jury at the Metro on their Save Our Town tour.

They were supported by new comers Howl and Bearhug who are so new the gig had to be all ages. Howl popped up late last year when unearthed by Triple J with their track Breakout. Both bands still have a long way to go when it comes to live performances, especially Bearhug spend more time facing the back of the stage than the audience.

Philadelphia Grand Jury's set started with an excellent rendition of Jay-Z '99 Problems' by the new drummer Susie Patten

This screen grab is from the video clip for 'Save Our Town':

The Phily Jays rocked a great set full of punk party hits from their 2009 debut album Hope is for Hopers. After an hour set they defiantly left everyone wanting more... but some a little disappointed that they didn't play for longer. They apologised saying that Susie is so new, she does not know any more songs. You know what they say, always leave them wanting more.

It was a great show, I would defiantly see they again, especially for the super cheap ticket price of $17 it was a really great night.
